you probably had a mild case of the DT’s (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delirium_tremens), if you had been rolling hard, th, fri, sat night.  In a mild form they are way less extreme than the horrible description given by wiki, but will make sleep quite difficult.
Back in our drinking days, the “Tuscaloosa Sunday Blues” (what we called the dts because what city causes a worse hangover than Ttown) usually renered sleep impossible at the end of a string of long nights.  A hair of the dog was the only thing that worked.  They also caused wretched night mares during the brief sessions of sleep that tended to be bad enough to embrace the insomnia lest see what hell was in the realm of dreams.
